Dollar volume in June climbed to $307.7 million, up 36% year over year and the strongest June we’ve tracked. Growth came from more cars finding buyers: Sold listings jumped 25% to 6,400 and sell-through hit a five-year high of 72.8%.
Average sale price rose 9% to $48,078 – respectable, but still short of the mid-to-high $50Ks the market saw in June 2023 and 2024. Prices didn’t run away, they just kept pace with a market that got busier.
Online auctions did the heavy lifting, moving 79% of every car sold and pulling in $242.5 million, with Bring a Trailer alone responsible for $184.5 million of it. But live auctions had their best June in years too, rebounding to $65.2 million on the strength of Barrett-Jackson’s Columbus sale, where 547 of 548 cars found buyers.
Top 10 Sales in June
At the very top, June looked different than usual as well. A 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder led the month at $2.695 million, but half of the top ten sold online — including a $1.677 million Rimac Nevera on Bring a Trailer, the second-highest sale of the month. With no marquee live sale to concentrate the biggest checks in one room, the internet carried the top of the market.

Each month, we track “Flips” and “Flops,” which we define as cars with documented previous sale records. This enables us to calculate the net gain or loss and the time elapsed since the last sale. While some purists argue that a genuine Flip/Flop occurs only within a 12-month timeframe from the previous sale, we believe this list offers entertainment and valuable insights that a narrower window would overlook. Admittedly, it’s plausible that cars have changed hands in private transactions between these public listings; nonetheless, this data provides valuable insights into which cars have realized significant gains or losses compared to their previous sales.
