Between Kissimmee, Scottsdale, and Paris, the year opened with a proper bang, the kind that rattles the windows and gets everyone checking the numbers twice. Dollar volume jumped 80 percent year over year and average prices climbed 72 percent, while total listings stayed roughly flat. That tells you everything you need to know. This was not about more cars changing hands, it was about special cars finding eager buyers, especially at the very top of the market where Ferraris seemed to be setting off Market Busters by the hour. Top 10 Sales in January 2026
The Top 10 sales this month tell a pretty clean story about where the serious money showed up in January. Mecum Kissimmee did the heavy lifting with six of the ten sales, including the top two overall. RM Sotheby’s followed with three, and Gooding & Company rounded things out with a record-setting Ferrari 288 GTO in Paris. As for the cars themselves, this list was almost entirely made of Ferraris, with the lone outlier being a very rare Ford GT40.
Top Online Sales in January 2026
January logged 119 sales north of $1M, but only three of those happened online, all through Bring a Trailer, and all from Silver Arrow Cars. Live auctions clearly owned the very top end this month, as with most months, but online platforms are still doing plenty of work underneath that. Different lanes, different buyer behavior, and together they keep the market moving at every level.

January was also a month for rewriting the record books. Mecum Kissimmee set the stage early with a private collection of truly special Ferraris, while RM Sotheby’s followed up in Arizona with several standout Porsches that checked all the right boxes. At the very top of the market, it appears that buyers are not just shopping spec sheets or pedigrees. They are chasing rare combinations, singular histories, and cars that simply do not have easy substitutes. When something genuinely unique shows up, the market still knows exactly what to do.
