Market Report: March 2026

March wraps up Q1, which means it’s time to take stock of both the month and the year so far, and there’s plenty to talk about. If the collector car market were a party, Q1 would be the entrance — and 2026 came in loud. Mecum kicked things off at Kissimmee and it felt like records were dropping every other week through January and February. Then Amelia Island wrapped up in early March and, almost on cue, things got noticeably quieter. Not a crash — just the natural exhale that follows an extraordinary sprint.

Through Q1, dollar volume is up 31%, average price is up 27%, and sell-through is up 6% — all against roughly the same number of total listings as Q1 2025. In other words, the same amount of cars, significantly more money. 2026 is already a record-breaking year for the specialty car market — and we’re only three months in. Now the calendar turns, and the market takes a breath before the spring and summer season kicks into gear.

Top 10 Sales in March 2026

As expected, the auctions in Amelia Island led March’s top sales. In fact, the top 21 sales of the entire month came out of that single weekend on the Florida coast, split between just two auction houses: Gooding Christie’s and Broad Arrow. Gooding took the top sale with the 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider at $16.5 million, but Broad Arrow had the better overall weekend – leading in both total sales and market records, including a spectacular $6.7M sale of a Porsche Carrera GT – smashing the recent records set for that market just the month before. Two houses, one weekend, twenty-one of the month’s biggest results. Amelia delivered.

Top Online Sales in March 2026

While 37 cars crossed the million-dollar mark in March, only 2 were sold online – and the top online sale came in at 31st on the overall sales chart. That’s the reality of the Q1 calendar: between Kissimmee, Scottsdale, Amelia, and Miami, the first quarter is a live auction gauntlet. The right car, the right crowd, and a little competitive electricity still does things a browser window can’t replicate. But the Spring market is where online auctions shine – when it comes to 2026, they are just getting started.

New Market Records set in March 2026

Big numbers get the headlines, but some of the most interesting things happening in this market aren’t at the top of the chart – a milestone is a milestone whether it happens at $50,000 or $5 million. Here, we track records broken across every segment and price tier… and while online auctions may not dominate volume at the very top, it’s clearly finding its lane in the record books.

Top 10 Flips & Flops in March 2026

And we can’t forget about everyone’s favorite lists… .the flips and flops!

Each month, we track “Flips” and “Flops,” which we define as cars with documented previous sale records. This enables us to calculate the net gain or loss and the time elapsed since the last sale. While some purists argue that a genuine Flip/Flop occurs only within a 12-month timeframe from the previous sale, we believe this list offers entertainment and valuable insights that a narrower window would overlook. Admittedly, it’s plausible that cars have changed hands in private transactions between these public listings; nonetheless, this data provides valuable insights into which cars have realized significant gains or losses compared to their previous sales. Enjoy this data at your own discretion.

* A Market on CLASSIC.COM is a grouping of comparable vehicles that have, at a minimum, the same Make, Model, and Model Generation. When relevant for purposes of valuation, a Market may be further segmented by Model Variant, Trim, Transmission Type, Body Style, and other factors.

**The CLASSIC.COM Market Benchmark (CMB) is a benchmark value for vehicles in a given Market based on data accumulated by CLASSIC.COM and calculated by a proprietary algorithm that takes into account volume and recency of each data point. CMB can be used to assess the performance of a market over a given time period. However, it does not represent the value of a specific vehicle.
