Market Report: February 2026

Two months in, and 2026 is already making a statement. The big Q1 auctions – Kissimmee, Scottsdale, Paris, and the Florida sales – have always set the temperature for the rest of the year. This year, they turned up the heat!

We’ve tracked $1.3 billion in total dollar volume through the end of February, which is $3 million ahead of where we were at this same point last year – with nearly identical transaction counts. Same number of cars, more money. Prices are up, and the market is talking. Let’s get into it.

A quick note on the calendar: the data here covers January and February only. Amelia Island, one of Q1’s marquee events, doesn’t happen until the first weekend in March, and Paris and Miami also move around on the calendar year to year. Keep that in mind when comparing years.

For comparison purposes, we group the auctions in Amelia and Miami together. They split into separate events in 2024, but were combined prior to that, and typically held in March. Keeping them together makes year-over-year comparisons cleaner.

Top 10 Sales in February 2026

All 10 of February’s top sales came from RM Sotheby’s, who happened to hold two auctions in Florida this month. Their Palm Beach sale had some strong results, but it was their Miami auction at the end of the month that really stole the show. Nine of the top 10 sales came out of Miami, along with 14 market records set (more on that in a bit).

Top Online Sales in February 2026

Online platforms are closing the gap, but live auctions still dominate the top of the market. 23 cars sold over $1M in February, and 2 of those sold online. Here are the top 3 online sales from the month.

New Market Records set in February 2026

89 market records were set in February across every value tier – at live auctions, online platforms, dealer sales, and even a few private transactions. In fact, more than half of February’s records didn’t happen in an auction room – they happened online. Find all the new market records set in February in the list below:

Top 10 Flips & Flops in February 2026

And we can’t forget about everyone’s favorite lists… .the flips and flops!

Each month, we track “Flips” and “Flops,” which we define as cars with documented previous sale records. This enables us to calculate the net gain or loss and the time elapsed since the last sale. While some purists argue that a genuine Flip/Flop occurs only within a 12-month timeframe from the previous sale, we believe this list offers entertainment and valuable insights that a narrower window would overlook. Admittedly, it’s plausible that cars have changed hands in private transactions between these public listings; nonetheless, this data provides valuable insights into which cars have realized significant gains or losses compared to their previous sales. Enjoy this data at your own discretion.

* A Market on CLASSIC.COM is a grouping of comparable vehicles that have, at a minimum, the same Make, Model, and Model Generation. When relevant for purposes of valuation, a Market may be further segmented by Model Variant, Trim, Transmission Type, Body Style, and other factors.

**The CLASSIC.COM Market Benchmark (CMB) is a benchmark value for vehicles in a given Market based on data accumulated by CLASSIC.COM and calculated by a proprietary algorithm that takes into account volume and recency of each data point. CMB can be used to assess the performance of a market over a given time period. However, it does not represent the value of a specific vehicle.
